Adding Users to EDIS

EDIS Online User Guide

When EDIS is installed, a database role called “EDIS_Role” is created in the SSISDB that has execute rights to all EDIS ETL stored procedures, except for procedures that manage connections and ID’s. You can add windows users or windows groups to this database role. Please note that logins using SQL authentication are not able to run any SSISDB procedures. This is a Microsoft restriction on the SSISDB for security purposes.

To enable a Windows User or Windows Group the ability to run EDIS procs, run the following SQL Command below (Substituting the “DOMAIN\WIN_USR_OR_GRP” for the actual Windows User or group name)

-- USE SSISDB

GO

ALTER ROLE EDIS_Role ADD Member [DOMAIN\WIN_USR_OR_GRP]

To Remove a Windows Login or Group, use the following:

-- USE SSISDB

GO

ALTER ROLE EDIS_Role DROP Member [DOMAIN\WIN_USR_OR_GRP]
